Westwood Dishcloth
I love using my crochet skills to make functional items, and dishcloths are one of my go-to projects for several reasons. First, dishcloths are great because they help me add color to my kitchen. Secondly, they don’t require a lot of yarn so they are a great stash-buster. And lastly, small projects are motivating because you can start and finish them in a short amount of time. I mean, who doesn’t love that?!
The Westwood Dishcloth is an easy, textured dishcloth that has a simple, farmhouse feel. The stitch that gives it texture is the crossed double crochet stitch, which is made using standard crochet stitches. This makes it its accessible for crocheters at all skill levels while still having a unique look. The pattern includes easy repeats, so once you start making this dishcloth you’ll be finished before you know it!
This is the first pattern in the Rustic Charm Dishcloth Set CAL, so if you love easy dishcloth patterns be sure to check out the event post.
The Yarn
Cotton yarn is the standard yarn used for dishcloths. I Love This Cotton yarn is one of my favorite cotton yarns, so I knew I would use it for this project. Since this is a small project, I was able to use the yarn I had left over from designing the Pecan Grove Placemat.
The great thing about dishcloths is that they don’t require a lot of yarn and can be a great stash buster. I really like I Love This Cotton yarn because it has all of the sturdy characteristics of cotton yarn, but also has a soft feel. Every time I use it I’m amazed by how good it feels while I’m working and I love the finished project.
