Frequently Asked Questions

Every designer runs their pattern tests differently to meet the needs of their business. Here are the answers to questions that are frequently asked regarding the Measured and Stitched pattern testing process.

Nope! I’m happy to have you here no matter how frequently you are able to apply for or take on a project. Please don’t feel pressured to sign up for a project if it will be a cause of stress. If you ever decide that you’d like to take a break from pattern testing for a while, you can unsubscribe from this list (or rejoin) at any time.

Unfortunately, no. Your application only indicates your willingness to test the pattern, if selected. Please know that I do my best to accept as many folks as I can and rotate through applicants so that everyone gets a chance to work on patterns they are excited to test.

I totally understand that life happens. If you are unable to complete a project in the given timeline, that’s okay. My only request is that you communicate with me once you realize you’re not going to be able to finish on time. I don’t necessarily need you to share the particulars about your circumstances if you’re not comfortable with sharing, but knowing about your progress will help me be able to move forward with publishing the pattern.

No, you can choose your own yarn and color scheme. In regards to yarn, I only ask that you choose the same yarn weight.

I usually use an Instagram group chat to manage pattern-testing communication once testers have been selected. If you are unable to participate in a group chat, we can work together to determine the best way to communicate about your concerns.
