Mountainside Blooms Baby Blanket

I love making crochet projects that combine different stitches together. It gives me a chance to try out new stitches, and it keeps me from getting bored while I work on a large project.

This easy crochet baby blanket pattern uses half-double crochet stitches in conjunction with cluster v-stitches to create a baby blanket that works up quickly and has a lot of texture. As I was working on the sample for the pattern, I noticed that the cluster v-stitches looked like little flowers with the green, white, and pink colors in the yarn, so I felt like Mountainside Blooms was the perfect name for the project! It gives the feel of an afternoon full of sunshine and happiness, which makes me smile every time it crosses my mind.

If you like making baby blankets that have a timeless feel while still using modern stitch combinations and yarns, then this is the perfect pattern for you.

The Yarn

I have really enjoyed using Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek and Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek Chunky for other projects, so when I came across Baby Bee Soft & Sleek I was ready to give it a try. It is definitely a yarn that I will add to my go-to list! This yarn has a soft feel while still having great stitch definition, which is a must-have for a baby blanket.

The green, white, and pink colors of the Xoxo colorway really caught my attention as I was shopping for yarn for this project. I have really leaned towards the blues and blue/greens lately, so I was looking for a different color palette, and this yarn was absolutely perfect. There are also some sections within the variegation that have a little bit of purple mixed in as well. I think this blanket will look amazing in a variety of colors (or color combinations), though!
