Christmas Traditions Throw Blanket
The Christmas Traditions Throw Blanket blends traditional and modern Christmas colors so that you can have a little bit of both in the same piece of décor. While this is a single-stitch blanket, the design incorporates color changes that are just frequent enough to keep you motivated while you work, but infrequent enough to keep you from having to weave in too many ends. My favorite stitch, the half-double crochet, really shines in this pattern!
The Yarn
When I set out to find yarn for this Christmas crochet throw blanket I looked first for color, then for yarn quality. I wanted the shades of red and green to have a deep and rich quality to give the blanket a timeless, traditional Christmas look even though red and green were not the primary colors. Fortunately, I was able to find great yarn in the beautiful colorways I was looking for!
I chose Lion Brand Basic Stitch it had everything I was looking for. First, it had the right colors. The Red Heather and Pine Heather colorways balance well against the Silver Heather and White colorways to create the beautiful striped effect. Another reason this yarn is great is because it’s really smooth and easy to work with.
