Pecan Grove Baby Blanket
I like having variety in a pattern when I make a blanket. Although I make crocheted blankets as a way to relax, I sometimes get bored with single-stitch patterns. I find it easier to stay motivated when a pattern has more than one section of stitches or stitch combinations because I get the feeling of accomplishment every time I finish a smaller section.
The two alternating sections of the Pecan Grove Baby Blanket use different combinations of single crochet and half-double crochet, so it’s perfect for everyone from confident beginners to advanced crocheters.
The Yarn
When choosing a yarn for this pattern I wanted something that was soft, but still had great stitch definition. It didn’t take me long to decide to use Lion Brand Heartland in the Haleakala colorway! Not only is it a yarn that I absolutely adore, but the shade of green reminded me of the color of pecan hulls while they’re still on the tree. This blanket would be amazing in a variety of colors, though, so any of the Heartland colorways would make a great yarn choice.
