Free Crochet Pattern: Acadia Trails Placemat

|

Another placemat pattern has arrived! With the arrival of the Fall season, I was ready to update my kitchen table with a new set of placemats. Since I have a square bar-height table, I decided to design a square crochet placemat.

As I worked through my different ideas, I landed on the Acadia Trails stitch combo, and it turned out wonderfully! This pattern has allowed me add a handmade element to my place settings without covering the entire table, and I am so excited to share it with you.

Acadia Trails Placemat

The Acadia Trails stitch comb is one of my favorites in my pattern design collection. It incorporates a balance of crossed double crochet and stitching in the back loop to add simple texture and intrigue. If you haven’t already seen them, be sure to check out the Acadia Trails Baby Blanket and the Acadia Trails Throw Blanket patterns!

The unique design of this square crochet placemat makes this pattern perfect for square tables and small spaces. While I love a traditional rectangular placemat, our everyday table is square and easily looks overcrowded with larger table linens. This square placemat adds color and charm to the table while still being functional for everyday use.

In addition to the beautiful look and functional feature of the design, the Acadia Trails Placemat is great for crocheters of all skill levels. The use of basic stitches and techniques makes this placemat easy to make while also giving your finished project an elevated look.
