Lightweight Cotton Throw Blanket: Summerland Trail Throw Blanket

|

Now that warmer weather has arrived, it’s time for a lightweight cotton throw blanket! As a year-round blanket user, I’m highly aware of the different blanket needs for different seasons. In the colder months I prefer solid blankets that use bulkier yarn so that I can get all snuggled up and keep the super-cold air out. During the warmer months, though, I don’t want all of that bulk. I need a lightweight cotton throw blanket that’s just heavy enough that it keeps out the evening chill of a spring or summer evening, but still breathable so that I don’t get sweaty.

The Summerland Trail Throw Blanket is the perfect blanket for those warm days that turn into cool nights. I can already see myself sitting out on the front porch listening to my favorite tunes with this blanket draped across my lap!

Lightweight Cotton Throw Blanket: Summerland Trail Throw Blanket

The Summerland Trail Throw Blanket is made using a combination of easy crochet stitches and lightweight cotton yarn, which allows you to make a throw blanket that is perfect for both indoor and outdoor lounging. The design features two distinctive, alternating sections, and it also uses one of my favorite stitches – the half-double crochet!

I chose a cotton yarn for this design because I wanted a blanket that I could use if it felt a bit chilly, but that wouldn’t feel immediately warm to the touch. Cotton yarn does exactly that, and adding sections with a few rows of open stitches along the way helped ensure the perfect balance of warmth and breathability that makes a blanket perfect for warmer weather. This unique and timeless design is perfect for adding a touch of style and comfort to any home.
