Free Crochet-A-Long: Rustic Charm Dishcloth Set CAL

| |

Some of the things I love about crochet are that projects can come in all sizes and shapes, and can have a variety of purposes. I’m a big fan of using cotton yarn to make practical items that can be used around the home. So, I put together an event that will let you stitch along with me! The Rustic Charm Dishcloth Set Crochet-A-Long (CAL) is a free event that will let you use your crochet skills to make 4 beautiful dishcloths that you can keep for yourself or give as a gift.

What is a Crochet-A-Long?

You might be wondering, what is a crochet-a-long? A crochet-a-long is an event in the crochet community where everyone works at the same time to complete a project or a set of projects.

While each crochet-a-long, or CAL, is different, there are some common components that appear in most events. The featured pattern is released in sections and everyone participating works on the section at the same time. Sometimes, a CAL features a set of patterns. In that case, the patterns are released individually so that everyone is working on the same project at once.

Frequently, there’s a social media component to a CAL where participants can ask questions, share their progress, and cheer on others as they show off their work.

I’m in a “waste not, want not” phase of life. I’m always looking for ways to use up as much of my yarn as I can. My favorite way to use up my cotton yarn is to make hot pads and dishcloths. It not only helps me not toss out yarn, but it also lets me add fun and seasonal colors to my kitchen without a complete round of redecorating.

During this free dishcloth set crochet-a-long you’ll have the opportunity to do any combination of those things. We’ll be making 4 dishcloths throughout the event, so if you have some scrap cotton yarn laying around, it’s a great time to give it a purpose and get it out of your stash. You can also buy some bright yarn to work with want to add a bit of flair to your kitchen. You can make them all in one color, or use a variety of shades. The sky is the limit!

Each of the 9.5 x 9.5 inch dishcloths in this set has it’s own unique look, but together they make a beautiful set that will look great in any kitchen. The dishcloths includes in this CAL are shown in the photo below.

Crocheting Together

The wonderful part about a CAL is that you get a chance to meet and work alongside others who love the craft of crochet just like you do!

This event is being hosted here on the blog and in the Measured and Stitched Crochet Community Facebook Group, so you’ll get a chance to connect with others who enjoy making easy, relaxing projects for their home. The group is a place for crocheters to share their project progress, ask questions about Measured and Stitched patterns, and enjoy the friendship of people who enjoy the relaxing nature of crochet.

During the Rustic Charm Dishcloth Set CAL we will use the Facebook group to work together. This is where you can get pattern release information, ask questions, and show off the beautiful dishcloths we make!
