Mason Lake Throw Blanket
Once I made the Mason Lake Throw Blanket, I knew that it would look great as a baby blanket, too. The texture of the stitches makes this blanket stunning as a nursery decoration. The Mason Lake Baby Blanket is also very soft and warm, which makes it perfect to snuggle a baby.
This pattern uses single crochet, half-double crochet, and double crochet to make a gorgeous baby blanket, so it’s easy enough for a confident beginner to follow. It’s also perfect for advanced crocheters because it works up quickly and is relaxing to make.
I’ve already made three of these to give away as gifts, and I can tell that this quick and easy crochet baby blanket pattern will be one of the patterns on my go-to list any time I need a baby shower gift!
The Yarn
After using Caron One Pound for the full-size version of this blanket, I looked for a similar yarn with a little more color. I chose Caron Jumbo Ombre because the yarn had the same softness and stitch definition as Caron One Pound, and also had a variety of colors to choose from.
It took me a while to choose a color, but I finally chose the White Water colorway. The self-striping nature of the ombre yarn gave the blanket an extra dimension of beauty (without having to weave in all of the ends), and the shades of blue, sea green, and white were absolutely gorgeous! This is definitely a line of yarn I will use again.
