Bayside Breeze Throw Blanket
I’ve always wanted to design a ripple throw blanket, so when we visited the beach this summer on our vacation I was inspired to design one that looked like the slow waves coming in off of the ocean. The overall look of the blanket came out so much better than I ever imagined, and I know this won’t be my last ripple throw blanket design!
The Bayside Breeze Throw Blanket uses mostly double crochet and single crochet stitches, which makes it a great project for confident beginners and those looking for an easy, relaxing project. I added in some rows of small double crochet clusters, made by stitching 2 double crochet together, to break up the solid sections of stitches and add some visual intrigue to the blanket. This blanket works up incredibly quickly and is a great way to try your hand at making a ripple throw blanket.
The Yarn
I really enjoyed using Big Twist Value yarn for the Oak Grove Throw Blanket CAL, so I decided to use it again for this project. Not only was the yarn easy to work with, but it comes in a huge variety of colors and is affordable even when it’s not on sale. I knew that I wanted to make something that felt beach-y, so I chose the Aqua colorway as the main color, and White as the coordinating color. If beach vibes aren’t your thing – no worries! This easy ripple throw blanket looks great in any color combination you choose.
