Hayrides in Autumn Scarf
I made the first version of the Hayrides in Autumn Scarf as a quick birthday gift for a coworker, and I loved it so much that I knew it had to become a fully published pattern! First, I loved that it was so quick to make. Since it was made almost entirely out of double crochet stitches, it worked up in one evening.
Secondly, the texture of the chunky yarn combined with the simple Shell stitch really helped give the scarf some extra flair without adding any difficulty. This aspect makes the Hayrides in Autumn Scarf a great project for beginners!
Lastly, I was inspired by the Hayrides in Autumn Throw Blanket. The stitch combination and yarn gave off such great Fall vibes as throw blanket, so it was a no-brainer to bring that feel to a scarf.
The Yarn
The yarn I used for the Hayrides in Autumn Throw Blanket was actually selected by my oldest niece. She chose Lion Brand Homestead in Wildfire because she liked the colorway and the fact that it had a-mazing texture. When I decided to use the same stitch combination to create a scarf, I knew that Lion Brand Homestead was the way to go.
I like my accessories to be versatile, so I chose Lion Brand Homestead in the Painted Desert colorway. It had a variety of rich colors throughout the yarn, which meant that it would pair well with lots of outfits. No matter which colorway you choose, Lion Brand Homestead will help you add a rustic feel to any project.
