Stone Creek Dishcloth

The Stone Creek Dishcloth was designed with subtle texture in mind. Everyone needs to be able to do a little bit of scrubbing when you’re doing the dishes! I chose to use a Shell stitch made from 3 half double crochet in the same stitch for two reasons. First, the shells give this crochet dishcloth some texture. Secondly, it gave the dishcloth a sprinkling of decorative rows that make your sink look pretty!

If you love this dishcloth pattern, you’ll really enjoy all of the other ones in the set! Be sure to check out the Rustic Charm Dishcloth Set CAL post to find the links to all of the patterns. They’re all based on easy stitches and stitch combinations, so you’ll have the full set whipped up in no time!

The Yarn

Since I’ve been stash-busting during this CAL, it’s been nice to see my cotton yarn get put to good use. Just like with the other 3 patterns, I’m using I Love This Cotton yarn for this project. The colorway I chose is Aspyn, which is the color I used for the Parker Creek Placemat. I’m really glad that I chose a solid color for this one because it really shows off the Shell stitch. While I love print and variegated yarns, it’s sometimes easy to lose the look of the stitches in the color changes.

This set of projects has reminded me of all the reasons I enjoy I Love This Cotton yarn. My dishcloths are soft, but they also still feel sturdy, which is exactly what you need if you’re washing dishes.
