Free Crochet Pattern: Pecan Grove Placemat
Placemats are one of my favorite ways to add a little bit of warmth to the everyday parts of our life. While we have a formal dining space with a large(ish) table, we eat most of our meals at a little table in the kitchen, and placemats are on the table at every meal. They live on the table full-time – even between meals – which not only lets me keep the space dedicated to meal time, but its a great way to add color and style to a room where we spend lots of our time. I have a variety of placemats I rotate through, but the latest addition to the rotation is the Pecan Grove placemat. This rectangle crochet placemat combines simple crochet stitches to create a piece of table décor that is sure to make everyday meals feel special and unique.

Pecan Grove Placemat
The Pecan Grove Placemat combines some of my favorite stitches and techniques. Fist, there are two distinct types of sections in this pattern, which gives the placemat a bit of visual intrigue. One section has alternating single and half double crochet stitches, which creates a really subtle texture, while the other section stands out by having well-defined lines created by placing stitches in only the front loop. Secondly, this pattern uses size 4 cotton yarn, which has incredible stitch definition, so all of your skills shine through when you use this beautiful rectangle crochet placemat on your table.
Whether you’re hosting a dinner party or just enjoying a family meal, the Pecan Grove Placemat will make your table look warm and inviting.
