Willowbrook Lane Scarf
I love combining easy stitches to create great projects. And this one – it’s pretty great! The Willowbrook Lane Scarf features the v-stitch, and since the v-stitch is made of standard double crochet stitches, it’s a beginner-friendly way to add in a fun, decorative element to a project.
The sections of v-stitches are balanced with alternating rows of half-double crochet and single crochet. While it’s not complex, the combination of the two stitches is one of my absolute favorites. These solid sections frame the open v-stitch sections in a way gives the scarf a timeless, classic look that will pair well with almost any fall outfit.
The Yarn
I looked to my yarn stash when designing this project, and I chose a skein of Big Twist Value in the Olive Drab colorway. It was left over from making the Oak Grove Throw Blanket, and I just knew it was destined for a one-skein project! This yarn is durable and has great stitch definition, but it’s also soft and easy to work with.
Yarn color is just as important as the stitches when you’re making an accessory. I chose Olive Drab because it has such a fall vibe and is one of my favorite colors, but the Willowbrook Lane Scarf will look great in any color that fits your seasonal preference or wardrobe.
