Cozy Moments Christmas Throw Blanket
If you could use one phrase to describe the theme of our Christmas decor, it would be “country charm”. We have ornaments that we’ve acquired on vacations and trips, knicknacks that have been gifted by family and friends, and handmade items that are dearly treasured. None of it matches, but when placed together it tells the story of our life. It takes us all afternoon to get everything set out because we use the time to reminisce and tell stories of our adventures and loved ones.
When designing the Cozy Moments Christmas Throw Blanket, I wanted to create something that would match the country charm vibe and would become a treasured heirloom alongside the rest. This easy crochet Christmas blanket uses simple stitches, traditional colors, and has a classic look that will always be trendy. I can already see myself snuggling up to watch my favorite Christmas movies wrapped in this beautiful throw blanket.
The Yarn
Choosing a yarn for a Christmas blanket isn’t as easy as it sounds! Since I knew I wanted to use traditional Christmas colors, it was easy to narrow down the color choices to red, green, white, and gray. Since I had so much Lion Brand Pound of Love left over from making the Simply Content Christmas Throw Blanket, I decided to make this project a stash-buster and use the yarn I had on hand to create this year’s Christmas throw blanket.
I enjoy using Lion Brand Pound of Love for throw blankets. It’s soft and easy to work with, yet sturdy enough to hold up well for daily-use projects like blankets. Oxford Gray, Fern, Cherry, and White make great colorways for Christmas-themed items, and I’m really happy with the drape and overall look and feel of the finished project.
