Deep Lake Dishcloth
I have really enjoyed making the dishcloths in this set. While they each have a unique look, they all involve my favorite stitch, the half double crochet! The Deep Lake Dishcloth is made almost entirely of half-double crochet, which makes it durable. That aspect helps balance out the open sections, which give it more of a decorative look and allow you add some charm to your kitchen.
When designing the set, I wanted to have one dishcloth that felt “pretty”. Cleaning the kitchen doesn’t exactly fall to the top of everyone’s list of favorite chores, but using items that make you smile always helps lighten the work load. The open sections of the Deep Lake Dishcloth give it just enough of a lacey feel without losing the functionality of a dishcloth.

The Yarn
It’s no secret that I’ve been stash-busting with this set! I’m using I Love This Cotton yarn again for this project, and this time I used the yarn I had left over from designing the Mason Lake Placemat. This colorway is called Denim Blue, and they did a great job of capturing the essence of denim throughout the skein. It wasn’t as easy to photograph because of the deep hues, but it is absolutely stunning. My dishes have a touch of blue around the edges, so it fits right in with my kitchen decor! No matter what colorway you choose to use, you’ll love the finished look of the Deep Lake Dishcloth.
While there are lots of choices out there for cotton yarns, I Love This Cotton yarn is my favorite. It’s soft, but it still has great stitch definition and it holds up to everyday use and washing. This makes it a great choice for dishcloths and other kitchen items.
